Finola Hackett

Finola Mei Hwa Hackett is a teenager from Tofield, Alberta[1] Canada who finished second in the 2006 Scripps National Spelling Bee after tying for eleventh in the 2005 Bee. For her runner-up finish, Hackett left with prizes totalling $12,000 (US). She competed in the 2006 Scripps National Spelling Bee shortly after winning Canada's CanSpell National Spelling Bee for the second consecutive year.

Finola lost out to Katharine Close in round 19 when she spelt the word weltschmerz V-E-L-T-S-C-H-M-E-R-Z.[2]
