Finneytown is an unincorporated census-designated place in Hamilton County, Ohio, United States, just north of Cincinnati, Ohio The population was 13,492 at the 2000 census.

Finneytown is located at 39°13′1″N, 84°31′17″W (39.217059, -84.521513)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 10.3 km² (4.0 mi²), all land.

It is an unincorporated community that is part of Springfield Township, and is mostly defined by the boundaries of the Finneytown Local School District.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 13,492 people, 5,194 households, and 3,807 families residing in the community. The population density was 1,305.6/km² (3,382.8/mi²). There were 5,336 housing units at an average density of 516.4/km² (1,337.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the community was 72.95% White, 23.83% African American, 0.16% Native American, 1.10% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.45% from other races, and 1.48% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.80% of the population.

There were 5,194 households out of which 34.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.7% were married couples living together, 14.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.7% were non-families. 23.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 3.04.

In the community the population was spread out with 27.6% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 22.9% from 45 to 64, and 17.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 87.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 80.3 males.

The median income for a household in the community was $52,219, and the median income for a family was $58,393. Males had a median income of $41,932 versus $31,250 for females. The per capita income for the community was $25,355. About 4.3% of families and 5.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 7.5% of those under age 18 and 4.1% of those age 65 or over.

The Finneytown Local School District has 4 schools that are divided by grades. They are: Brent(K-2), Cottonwood(3-4), Whitaker(5-6) and the Junior/Senior High(7-12). As of October 2006, 1772 students were enrolled in the school system 1


There are 4 private schools within Finneytown. They are: St Bartholomew(K-8), St Vivians(K-8), Central Baptist(K-12), and St Xavier High School(9-12).

Amanda Borden, who was a member of the 1996 United States gymnastic team that won the gold medal, is a 1995 graduate of Finneytown High School.

Joe Hudepohl, a swimmer, who won gold medals in the 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympics, resided in Finneytown.

Jeffrey R. Immelt, the current chairman of the board and chief executive officer of General Electric, graduated from Finneytown in 1974.

Justin Jeffre, a member of the band 98 Degrees, was raised in Finneytown.

Mark Trueblood is an American engineer and astronomer who is noted for early pioneering work in the development of robotic telescopes, graduated from Finneytown in 1966.

Each Year, Finneytown is the home of the Panegyri Greek Festival, the largest annual ethnic food celebration in Cincinnati. The Holy Trinity-Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church started the festival in 1975 and features authenic greek food, music, dancing and an art show.

Pringles potato chips was named after Pringle Drive, a street located in Finneytown.
