Finlay "Fin" Newton

Finlay "Fin" Newton was a popular character in the long-running TV series Casualty. He was played by Kwame Kwei-Armah. Fin enjoyed a memorable five-year stint in the series. Fin struck up a close friendship with his boss and colleague Josh Griffiths. The two men had tremendous on-screen chemistry and a one-off episode was commissioned which focused solely on their shift.^{[citation needed]}

Fin married fellow paramedic Comfort and she was delighted to discover she was expecting their first child. Tragically, Fin was found murderered after mysteriously disappearing, before he found out about Comfort's pregnancy. His body was found several weeks later. At the funeral, a woman claiming to be his wife, accompanied by a small boy which she claimed was Fin's son, appeared at his graveside. Comfort was shocked to learn that her "husband" had been leading a double-life, had a child from a previous union, and had omitted to dissolve his previous marriage. His child with Comfort was never born as she miscarried.
