[edit] "History"
Fink is listed on all information sources about The Network as being the leader. He allegedly financed the band's first and, so far, only album Money Money 2020 with money he received from a "Top secret" nuclear invention he created shortly before dropping out of M.I.T. It is rumored he has a lab in an Oakland warehouse. [1]
[edit] Suspicion of Identity
In reality, the funding of The Network's record was done by Billie Joe Armstrong, lead singer of Green Day and co-owner of the first record company the band was signed to, Adeline Records. He and fellow Green Day members Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool were accidentally confirmed as having association with the Network, despite denial from all three, when being credited as writing the song "Roshambo" on the album's rerelease, when the album was at first credited as being written by only the Network.
There is high suspicion that Fink and Armstrong are one in the same. His vocals on the cover of Teenagers From Mars by the Misfits, featured on the rerelease of Money Money 2020 is said by many to sound like a Green Day cover, and on the phone conversation/song by the name of "Spike," the whiny, nasal voice sounds identical to Billie Joe's. In concert, Fink displays much of the same body language as Armstrong. The two also have the same eye color, hair, and a number of the same tattoos. They are also born under the same astrological sign, Aquarius, though Fink's birthday is unknown. In addition, Green Day recorded a thrity-second song by the name of "The Ballad of Wilhelm Fink" for a compliation called "Short Music For Short People." [2]
[edit] Usual Appearance
As all members of The Network, Fink wears the same outfit whenever he is seen, a black T-shirt (which is the only element of his his apparel that somtimes changes), red leather (more likely pleather) jacket, matching pants with a red devil tail coming out from the seat, black shoes (on the concert DVD Disease is Punishment they are the same platform shoes Billie Joe wears to make himself seem taller), maroon and gold hand gloves, and a black and white striped balaclava which does not aptly cover his face and leaves his hair, eyes, and mouth all overexposed. When Money Money 2020 was first released, his hair was blonde, but it has since become black.
[edit] Relationship with Green Day
In a staged press conference popularized on the internet and the in background of the credits of Disease is Punishment Fink begins screaming in Swiss German that the band is not Green Day when questioned by an interviewer, quickly reuslting in a fight. The bands also staged a heat feud, supposedly ended with The Network opening for Green Day on the end tail of the "American Idiot tour." [3]
