Fingers and Knives is the American Indie band of singer-songwriter Evan Yates. Yates began recording in 2003 under the name Jawa Machines, self-releasing one EP and two full-length albums as CD-Rs. June 2006 saw the release of his first album under the name Fingers and Knives, titled Humming Cables. The album, which Yates has described as Experimental Indie, has been said to incorporate elements of Post-punk, Post-rock, and Lo-Fi.
While Yates is the sole writer and instrumentalist for his recordings, he often employs the talents of other musicians when playing live and is also involved in a variety of other projects with his friends and collaborators.
