Filthy Rich (board game)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Filthy Rich is a board game created by Wizards of the Coast. It was billed as the "3-D Game of Capitalism" but failed to become popular and is now off the market, according to Wizards. The game was unique in that it used a "3-d" notebook to hold cards that represented virtual businesses. The binder contained four transparent pages, each of which has a number of pockets which allowed you to place nine playing cards on each page. Players owned businesses, purchased insurance against taxes, and earned money, all with the ultimate goal of purchasing "luxuries" which ranged in price from 6 units to 42 units. The first player to successfully purchase 3 luxuries without any outstanding loans is the winner. The game used 10-sided dice, which allowed all 9 spots on the "board" to be hit (or, in the case of rolling a zero, taxes could be issued).
At the beginning of the game, each player is given $10 and is dealt five cards from a deck.
The businesses cost different amounts, had different taxes, different incentives, and different hit-amount (i.e. if the business was hit you would earn between 1-8 dollars).
Some of the businesses included:
Clown Comics and Combustibles, Columbus Travel Agency, The Snake, Swan Song, There Are No Rabbits Here, Sven's Swedish Tacos, Tic Toc Floating Craps, Booger's Buns, Love Shack Videos, Spider-Web Marketing, Stern, Smith, and Bubba, Murphy's Fish House, Granny's Guns, Shmoo Hut, Knight Errant, Nobody Stops at Shorties, Dragon Lounge, Chapter 11 Books

The Wizards of the Coast no longer mentions the game on its website. And no other game sellers have the game in stock (ex. http://www.funagain.com/control/product/~product_id=05179/~affiliate_id=TGRO).
