File Under Easy Listening (or F.U.E.L.) was a shortlived Alternative rock band formed in Belfast in 1998. The band consisted of Nathan Connolly, Aaron Ditty, Dave Magee and Peter Comfort. They were managed by BBC Radio 1 DJ Colin Murray.
The band first came to the attention of Bright Star Recordings when a mutual friend took a copy of an early track to Belfast's music guru, Johnny Davis. The band was subsequently booked for several gigs. One was on "Sessions of The Nation" on Radio Ulster.
F.U.E.L. recorded a four-track session at Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin for Radio 1 and in December 2000, they toured with Ash and Snow Patrol in Dublin, Cork, and Limerick.
In March 2001, F.U.E.L.'s first and only release, "Closure/Dryform" was released on Bright Star Recordings. It was a double A-side single with the songs "Closure" and "Dryform". Towards the end of their career, drummer Pete left the band and was replaced by Ian McMillan and Dave's brother Herb also joined on keyboards. This lineup played a few shows, but soon afterwards the band split up.
In 2005, the band reformed for a special, one-off gig at the Bangor-based Christian youth outreach event, BTC Presents, held in 1st Bangor Presbyterian Church, where Aaron Ditty is now the youth pastor. Nathan was not present at the event and was replaced by guitarist Herb Magee.
Dave Magee went on to play in local heroes The Debonaires until their split in 2006. He was also a member of the short lived Paper Planes with his brother Herb.
Herb Magee also played in The Debonaires but left to join Derry band Fighting With Wire in 2004.
Peter Comfort now drums with the outreach band Bluetree and teaches drums around the Belfast and Bangor area.
Nathan Connolly is now a member of the Northern Irish alternative rock band Snow Patrol.
