Fighting Fifth Hurdle

The "Fighting Fifth" Hurdle is a Grade 1 National Hunt hurdle race in the United Kingdom for four-year-old and above horses run over a distance of 2 miles (3,219 metres) at Newcastle Racecourse in November. There are nine hurdles to be jumped in the race.
The race title comes from the nickname of the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers regiment, originally the 5th Regiment of Foot.
