The 2004 edition of the FIFA Futsal World Championship was held between November 21 and December 5 in the Republic of China (Taiwan) (officially "Chinese Taipei" for political reasons). It was the fifth World Championship held under the aegis of football's world governing body. The venues were National Taiwan University in Taipei City and Linkou Gymnasium in Tao Yuan County.
Spain won the tournament, defeating Italy in the final.
