The idea of "field generated by adjoining an element" is discussed in the glossary of field theory page, and notation is introduced. However, there is no useful link anywhere to help people work out what "generate" or "adjoin" means, so it might be hard for them to find that piece of information. --Dmharvey 11:24, 27 May 2005 (UTC)
