Fidelis Morgan

Fidelis Morgan is an actress and writer. Born near Stonehenge of Liverpudlian parents in 1952

Her stage plays, adaptations of famous novels, ‘Pamela (novel)’ and ‘Hangover Square' were acclaimed. She collaborated with Lynda la Plante on Channel 4’s thriller ‘Killer Net’.

Her non fiction includes The Female Wits, the first study of female playwrights of the Restoration stage (Restoration comedy) and biographies of charismatic female figures from the 17th and 18th centuries (see Charlotte Charke). She edited the bestselling Virago anthology of Female Humour ‘Wicked’.

Her novels include the Countess Ashby dela Zouche series of mysteries: Unnatural Fire, The Rival Queens, The Ambitious Stepmother and Fortune's Slave.

Her short Story Down and Dirty appears in Karin Slaughter's Like A Charm

As an actress she has appeared on stage with the RSC, the National Theatre, repertory in Liverpool, Birmingham, Nottingham and Leeds as well as spending many years with the notorious Glasgow Citizens Theatre.

On TV she can be seen in As Time Goes By, Jeeves and Wooster, Dead Gorgeous, Mr Majeika.
