Fida (Hindi: फ़िदा, Urdu: فِدا, English: Crazy) is a Bollywood movie released in 2004. The film directed by Ken Ghosh stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Fardeen Khan and Kim Sharma. If you watch the movie you can see the obvious similarities between Fida and the American movie, Derailed which was released a year later. Though the film released to average critical acclaim [1] , it did not do well at the box office [2]

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Mumbai has been baffled with a series of internet thefts that have been taking place. Someone has managed to hack into accounts and steal huge amounts of money. One of the victims is Babu Anna (Akhilendra Mishra), a underworld don who is bent on getting the culprit.

Jai Malhotra (Shahid Kapoor) lives with his best friend Sonia (Kim Sharma). He meets Neha Mehra (Kareena Kapoor) and falls in love with her instantly. At first she ignores his advances but after some persuasion from Jai she too reciprocates positively. All seems well between the two, but then Neha reveals her father was part of a gang of criminals who stole money. It turns out that her father owed some money to that same gang, and with his passing they have come after her.

Jai determined to help her crazily decides to rob a man who left the bank with huge amounts of money. However things do not go to plan and he is caught by the man who turns out to be Vikram Singh (Fardeen Khan). Jai explains to Vikram why he tried to rob him and surprisingly Vikram agrees to help him out. Jai who is confused finds out that Vikram is the internet robber and he wants Jai to turn himself in as the robber. Jai agrees with the condition, he gets the money to Neha and turns himself in.

Word spreads around quickly that the robber has been found. Babu Anna sends his crew to capture Jai but he manages to escape. With the police and the underworld crew after him, Jai goes to Neha's apartment and to his shock also sees Vikram there. Jai realises he has been played by the both of them, and this was both of their plan to make Jai surrender himself to the police as the robber. Jai makes a quick escape from the apartment and is assumed dead when he gets shot.

Vikram and Neha are finally together but Neha starts receiving phone calls from someone and she soon feels as if she is being watched, by Jai, who she believes is still alive. Vikram at first doesn't believe her but later, he himself begins to receive phone calls from this anonymonous person, and finds out that someone has broke into their house. It is then revealed that Jai is actually very much alive and is determined to get his revenge on the both of them, especially Neha, who he used to love like crazy, now is going to hate her like crazy. Later on, Jai attempts to kill Neha, but is stopped by Vikram, who then beats him up severly, and admits him to hospital. After a cat and mouse game between Jai and Vikram, the film ends when Vikram finally kills Jai, but before he dies, he shoots Neha in the head, getting his revenge on the both of them. The last scene informs that huge amounts of money have been donated to charity by an anonymonous person, possibly Vikram. We then see Vikram alone sailing into the sunset.

Spoilers end here.
