Fiction Plane is a pop-rock band from England. In 2001, they recorded their first demo called Swings and Roundabouts. This led them to change their name from Santa's Boyfriend to Fiction Plane and recording their first official album, Everything Will Never Be OK, with MCA records. The album was released in 2002 in England and March 2003 in the United States with the single "Hate". They subsequently released the EP Bitter Forces and Lame Race Horses on July 11, 2005. Frontman Joe Sumner is the son of the singer-songwriter Sting.

The band's members are Joe Sumner (lead vocals, guitar, bass), Seton Daunt (guitar), and Pete Wilhoit (drums). Dan Brown (bass, keyboards, backing vocals) was a founding member of the band but left the group in 2006. Abe Laboriel Jr. (drums) also played with the group, when they recorded their demo.

The band are set to support The Police on the North American leg of their 2007 Reunion Tour. A new Fiction Plane album entitled Left Side of the Brain is scheduled for release on Bieler Bros Records in May.
