[edit] Lavrentii Alekseevich Zagoskin
Dear Feyer! First, let me be the first one to welcome you to Wikipedia. Usually, admins are responsible for welcoming the newcomers, but they were too busy, I guess. Anyway, check out all of the wiki-policies with regards to editing and behavior and start contributing! As for Zagoskin, I'll try and find some info on him. I'll save the article under Lavrenty Zagoskin. Just curious, why are you interested in this explorer? Do you reside in Alaska or just doing some research? Cheers! KNewman 17:21, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Re interest in Zagoskin
Sadly, I no longer live in Alaska, but I did spend 5 years there. My sister and her family have taken up residence in an abandoned Yup'ik village called Crow Village, Alaska and this is a place I have visited many times, and as such have become increasingly interested in the history of the area. Unfortunately, written history of the area is virtually non-exisitant prior to the Alaska Purchase in 1867. Zagoskin was one of the very first non-native explorers in the region in 1843, and in fact spent some time in Crow Village referring to it by it's native name Tulukaguagamute. I suspect he has many interesting observations, but references to these are hard to come by. --Feyer 13:50, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Lavrenty Zagoskin
While I was looking around the web for information, I may have misunderstood something about the Zagoskin-Rezanov connection. I'll edit out the content in question. --Merovingian (t) (c) (e) 20:49, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Soapy Smith
I see you lived in Anchorage. There's a restaurant there named Soapy Smith's. You keep taking my link off the Alaska page. Have you even LOOKED at the Soapy Smith website to judge that it is spam? Soapy 04:56, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
