Festival de Cine de Sitges

The Festival de Cine de Sitges (also known as Festival Internacional de Cinema de Catalunya) is one of the most recognizable film festivals held in Europe and considered the world's best festival specializing in genre films. Founded in 1967, the festival normally takes place every year in early October in the Spanish coastal villa of Sitges, located about 40 kilometers (24.9 miles) south of Barcelona.
