[edit] Irish people image

Hi we were having a discussion on Talk:Irish_people about this collage and the consensus was to have more people and no Irish Americans in the image. If you have specific objections please discuss on the talk page. Thanks Arniep 15:29, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi, unfortunately no one seems to have yet found a photo of James Joyce that is in the public domain in the U.S. which is required for a collage to avoid copyright issues. Arniep 16:01, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ian Paisley

Fergus, it was somewhat misleading to put in your edit commentary, "fixed typo", when what you did was change the phrase "fiercely anti-Catholicism" to "fiercely anti-Catholic". That's not good. Paisley, bad an' all as he is, is not "Anti-Catholic" - that's just factually incorrect - Alison 16:49, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Ach! apologies! i sincerely didnt notice the semantic confussion there. The phrase "ian paisly is anti catholicism" is grammaticaly incorrect. However, i agree upon second examination that "Ian Paisly is anti-catholic" paints an entirely new, and certainly misleading image. Perhaps a more suitable adjustment would be to change the line to something like "Ian paisley is a fierce critic of the Catholic Church" or "Ian Paisly is a fierce advocate of anti-catholicism" ? Again, sorry for the misunderstanding and thanks for catching it. Fergus mac Róich 16:08, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
