[edit] Spain and Catalonia

Hi there, I've made a small edit to remove a couple of superfluous references to Spain which gave a bit of a weird character to an otherwise very informative article. The reason is that the status of Catalonia in Spain is a matter of much debate and conflict, and the FGC being a sort of a Catalan national symbol, calling it a Spanish railway, in spite of being technically correct, is bound to offend Catalan sensibilities.--81.42.165.220 11:54, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I don't think that this should matter at all. We are not here to worry about the "sensibilities" of some nationalists or separatists. It is a railway. It is in Catalonia. And Catalonia has been a part of Aragon, a constituent realm of the Spanish Kingdom, for 900 years. So until the minority becomes the majority and independence is gained, it is Spanish as well. End of discussion.
For Christ's sake, its a RAILWAY. Why is Wikipedia such a haven for minority opinions that have absolutely NOTHING to do with the subjects at hand?Eboracum 18:33, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Broad-gauge (Lleida - La Pobla de Segur)

This section needs a thorough rewrite from someone with the latest gen. The line has been closed for the best part of a year between Balaguer and La Pobla to allow for a complete re-laying, and is due to open again throughout on 4 June 2006 using refurbished DMUs.
