Talk:Feral Tribune

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It would be useful to mention that many of Feral`s information that you mention in your article were either false, without evidence or totally exaggerated. For instance, Croatia did never send army divisions to Bosnia before 1995, although there were of course many Croatian volunteers that joined the war in Bosnia. However they were not send by the Croatian government whitch is quite a difference.

Actually, yes they did, the operations "Cincar" and "Zima 94" from late 1994 were Croatian Army (HV) operations, not just Croatian Defence Council (HVO). This is widely known, it's not just from Feral. --Joy [shallot] 14:09, 19 August 2005 (UTC)

Another point is the division story in Bosnia. Although this is a very popular rumour there is absolutely no valuable evidence that would turn this rumour to a fact.

Except for the formation of Herceg Bosna and Republika Srpska that were completely separate from the central government in Sarajevo? Let's not be too naive, this was a formal division in the making. It was stopped in time, but it was still apparent. --Joy [shallot] 14:09, 19 August 2005 (UTC)

Moreover Tudman did never sympathize with the Ustasha (he was in fact a partisan fighting against the Ustasha in WW2), however he did sympathize with the idea of having a Croatian state and there is nothing wrong with this.

This is a fine point. I'll see if the article could be adjusted avoid bias while expressing that idea. --Joy [shallot] 14:09, 19 August 2005 (UTC)

As you mention in your article, the Feral was sponsored by George Soros. This sponsoring however was immediatelly ended after Tudman died. It is just my personal point of view but to me it looks as if the Feral (as well as other newspapers sponsored by international investors) was used to harm Tudman`s image and to remove him from power.

The reason for me to write this comment is, that after reading your article one might think that the Feral Tribune was always right in its accusations against the government, which of course it was not.

Feral Tribune usually used rumours and gossip to accuse the government.
