Fernando Alvarado Tezozomoc

Fernando Alvarado Tezozomoc was a Mexican historian and descendent of the pre-Columbian lineage that ruled the Aztec empire. His main work was the Crónica Mexicayotl, written between 1598 and 1609. Written in the Náhuatl language, this work documents the history of the Mexica from the reign of Acamapichtli to the Spanish conquest. His father was Don Diego Alvarado Huanitzin the pre-conquest ruler of the altepetl Ecatepec and later tlatoani of Tenochtitlan by spanish appointment. His mother was Doña Francisca Moctezuma daughter of the Aztec Tlatoani Moctezuma II.
