Ferenc Krausz

Ference Krausz was born 17 May 1962 in Mór, hungary. Krausz studied theoretical physics at Eötvös Loránd University and electronics at the Technical University of Budapest. After his habilitation at the Technical University of Vienna he became professor at the same institute. Since 2003 he is professor at the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Garching additionally he is professor for experimental physics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich.

In 2006, he received the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, which is the highest honour awarded in German research.
