Fenwick (founded 1882, Newcastle upon Tyne) is an independent chain of department stores in the United Kingdom.
The chain has its headquarters at its flagship store in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. Other stores are located in London (in Bond Street and Brent Cross), Leicester, York, Windsor, Canterbury and Tunbridge Wells. Having acquired the Bentalls group of department stores in 2001 Fenwick went on to sell most of them retaining only two stores, Kingston and Bracknell.
The Newcastle store which is one of Britain's largest department stores outside London holds a spectacular Christmas window tableaux each year, which draws visitors from a wide area.
Fenwick's Newcastle has a complex layout made up of several connected buildings that open to Northumberland Street, Eldon Square, Monument Mall and Blackett Street, and incorporates five cafes and restaurants and a wide selection of goods. Other Fenwick's stores focus on fashion and household goods.
Reports show that Fenwick are interested in becoming the anchor store of the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre after its redevelopment in Nottingham.
