Fenolheda

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fenholeda, also Fenolhedés (French: Fenouillèdes, Occitan: Fenolhedés/Fenolheda, Catalan: Fenolleda), is an Occitan comarca in the French Département of Pyrénées-Orientales. The capital of the comarca is Sant Pau de Fenolhet.

Fenolheda has been part of the former Kingdom of France since the Treaty of Corbeil (1258). In 1790, during the French Revolution and long after the Treaty of Pyrenees (1659), it was incorporated in the newly created département with the Northern Catalonian comarques.
