The Fender Jaguar Bass is more or less a combination of the Fender Jazz Bass electric bass guitar and the Fender Jaguar electric guitar. Essentially, it's a Jazz Bass with a Jaguar body and switching options loosely styled after that of the Jaguar. It is made in Japan and features a one-piece maple neck with a thin C shape (similar to the Geddy Lee Bass) and has active/passive pickups with a variety of switching and tone options.
The Jaguar bass was made available only in Hot Rod Red (with matching headstock) and Black (without matching headstock) in the United States, while Olympic White and Sunburst were available in the Japanese market overseas; neither of these basses feature the color-matched headstock of the Hot Rod Red version.
Not to be confused with the Fender Jaguar Baritone Custom (aka Fender Jaguar Bass VI Custom) or the Fender Bass VI.
