[edit] Cyprus locations
Interesting additions. Could you donate any pictures about those locations? - Skysmith 15:19, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
- Sure, I would love to. I am very busy so it might be a day before I find time to get pictures on.
- They would be definitely interesting. Just make sure you tag them - see Wikipedia:Image use policy. - Skysmith 15:44, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removed AID nominations
You have removed the nominations for Darfur conflict and Ludwig van Beethoven from AID. However, you still need to move them to the page for removed nominations. See Wikipedia:Article_Improvement_Drive#How_an_article_is_removed_from_the_list. -Scottwiki 20:45, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi,
Thank you for supporting the recent FAC of United States, but unfortunately it failed to pass. However, I hope you will vote again in the future. SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 03:33, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Additions to coaster infobox require article updating, need help
I've made several large additions to the {{Infobox roller coaster}} template, which will require updating of EVERY article using it. These additions are automatic unit conversion for the statistics and automatic categorization. I have also provided full documentation of every parameter on the template page, which I strongly encourage you to read. Every article will need the following changes:
- These parameters must be delinked: location, section, manufacturer, and type. They will be automatically linked, and will (except for section) be used for automatic categorization.
- The type parameter must be Steel or Wood.
- The secondary type (Inverted, Floorless, Duelling etc.) should be moved to the type2 parameter. If a second secondary type is necessary, it goes in type3. In either case, don't link them, it will be done automatically.
- height, drop, length, speed, and restriction must have all non-numeric characters removed. height, drop, and length must be expressed in feet (using decimals instead of inches if necessary), speed must be expressed in miles per hour, and restriction must be expressed in inches. All of these parameters will automatically be converted to metric and displayed in both forms.
Also, the rcdb_number parameter should be added to every coaster article that doesn't have it yet.
If the article is about a widely-cloned coaster such as Batman: The Ride where the template covers multiple installations of the same coaster, the redesigned template will not be appropriate. For these articles, simply change the template to "Infobox roller coaster simplified". This is the old version, without all the automation.
I've already updated over 50 articles myself, but I can't do this all day and I'll need your help to get it done quickly. The list of pages using the template can be found here. I'm sending this message to all listed participants of Wikipedia:WikiProject Roller Coasters. Dusso Janladde 07:47, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Brain Teaser AfD
To all WikiProject Roller coasters participants: Brain Teaser, a kiddie coaster at Six Flags Darien Lake is up for deletion via WP:AFD. This isn't my article, but if it's deleted, it sets the prescident for many small coasters to be deleted, such as Mild Thing, which runs counter to the Coaster Wikiproject and also will make a lot of park templates look dumb since they can't include all coasters. Dusso Janladde 20:17, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Pinellas Park shop and eat section
[Thanks for your note. This is hard to do without seeming spammy. I just don't see the information as rising to notability or of being maintainable. Then the foundation gets angry letters about favoritism and allowing spam for some but not all. Unless a business meets WP:CORP, best to leave it alone. I don't know of a section like that in a WikiProject Florida city article. You could leave a note on the talk page of the article and on the talk pages of each person that has edited the article seeking consensus. If you don't get consensus, try contacting some other members of WikiProject Florida. (There's a list on the project page.) Check out some featured articles about cities and see what examples exist. Hope that helps. Cheers, User:Mikereichold | User_talk:Mikereichold 15:03, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thailand
Thanks for the barnstar, and for your addition to the participants of the Thai province wikiproject. However that project is nearly finished, now these articles just need some polishing and filling of some holes (e.g. the local histories) which I haven't found in english yet - so now I try to work through the 926 districts, where it is usually even more difficult to find good information beyond the standard touristical ones. I hope all these articles on Thailand have been helpful for preparing that trip to Thailand - don't forget to take photos then, there are still many areas of Thailand which have nearly no photos on Wikipedia:Commons yet. If you need ideas what to photograph - I have many :-) andy 16:46, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome!
Hi, and welcome to the Countries WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of counties.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Starting some new articles? See some model pages such as Cambodia!
- Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every country article in Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! User:Shy1520 20:52, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Location Maps
On the WikiProject Countries talk page, you had either explictly declared a general interest in the project, or had participated at a discussion that appears related to Location Maps for European countries.
New maps had been created by David Liuzzo, and are available for the countries of the European continent, and for countries of the European Union exist in two versions. From November 16, 2006 till January 31, 2007, a poll had tried to find a consensus for usage of 'old' or of which and where 'new' version maps. At its closing, 25 people had spoken in favor of either of the two presented usages of new versions but neither version had reached a consensus (12 and 13), and 18 had preferred old maps.
As this outcome cannot justify reverting of new maps that had become used for some countries, seconds before February 5, 2007 a survey started that will be closed at February 20, 2007 23:59:59. It should establish whether the new style maps may be applied as soon as some might become available for countries outside the European continent (or such to depend on future discussions), and also which new version should be applied for which countries.
Please note that since January 1, 2007 all new maps became updated by David Liuzzo (including a world locator, enlarged cut-out for small countries) and as of February 4, 2007 the restricted licence that had jeopardized their availability on Wikimedia Commons, became more free. The subsections on the talk page that had shown David Liuzzo's original maps, now show his most recent design.
Please read the discussion (also in other sections α, β, γ, δ, ε, ζ, η, θ) and in particular the arguments offered by the forementioned poll, while realizing some comments to have been made prior to updating the maps, and all prior to modifying the licences, before carefully reading the presentation of the currently open survey. You are invited to only then finally make up your mind and vote for only one option.
There mustnot be 'oppose' votes; if none of the options would be appreciated, you could vote for the option you might with some effort find least difficult to live with - rather like elections only allowing to vote for one of several candidates. Obviously, you are most welcome to leave a brief argumentation with your vote. Kind regards. — SomeHuman 7 Feb 2007 20:12 (UTC)
[edit] Deaf-mute
Hi Felixboy. I'm seeking opinions and possible support for an issue in which I'm in a debate with other Wikipedians. I'm trying to change indiscrimant use of the term "deaf-mute" in describing deaf people in general. To see some comments related to the issue, see Talk:The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter, as well as my own Talk page, User talk:Ward3001. You can also follow the links to other discussions. Right now I'm about the only person addressing the issue because deaf people are such a small minority. Other Wikipedians, with apparently no prior knowledge of the issue, are reverting my edits. If you're interesting in expressing your opinion, feel free to do so. If you wish to discuss further please leave me a message on my Talk page. Thanks. Ward3001 17:52, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Note regarding mediation
24.0.97.119 ignored the mediation request (neither agreeing nor disagreeing), yet continues to revert "deaf" to "deaf-mute". Please continue to monitor The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter. If this continues, I will ask everyone's opinion about seeking formal arbitration from Wikipedia. Arbitration results in a binding decision. Thanks. Ward3001 00:42, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
