[edit] Isis Origins

Isis was not a Greco-Roman deity, she was from Egypt. The Greeks and Romans eventually incorporated her into their pantheon, but her origin is in Egypt. That should be changed. ~Unknown Author

The above statment is not entirly correct; Asset, the Egyptian goddess on which the Greco-Roman Isis is based, is an Egyptian diety. However, in this context this argument is irrelevany eitehr way, because the focus of the FOI is not the reproduction of any pantheon of any era, but instead to spread a spiritualism and world view inspired by a personal but absract idea of the feninine creatirix divinity which is equally well represented by Asset or Isis as they are described by thier respective cultures. Lady Olivia Robertson, the FOI's primary author and public voice, uses the two names interchangably to refer to her muse who seh sees as an image representing all gods and goddesses as well as creation itself (_Call of the Goddess_ & "The Fellowship of Isis Manifesto" by Lady Olivia Robertson in addtion to other works within the FOI literguy). --Hypatia360 06:30, 13 August 2006 (UTC) aka Rev. [edit] Citation, reccognition of the author, and more objective information needed

Most of this entry is copied directly from the FOI Manifesto. This is not a problem in the lest as Lady Olivia gives full permission to reprint it at will, and in fact encourages others to do so such that it may be widely shared. My guess, is that she would be thrilled to know that it has been published on Wiki along with a link to the website.

However, to be accurate and in keeping with the Wiki standards, this should be noted and cited. The parts that are directly from the Manifesto should be in quotes, and other more objective and informational sections should be added beyond the Fellowship's own literugy and it's founder's own discription of the order. This is a great deal of information avalible on the FOI site, including AU emails, for anyone who wished to do this research and report on the FOI from the outside.--Hypatia360 06:30, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
