Felsted is a village of Essex in England, located near Braintree, Great Dunmow, the new estate of Oakwood Park, and Chelmsford. It is primarily notable for the Felsted School that dates back to the 16th century.
Felsted is first mentioned in the Domesday Book, as a manor. William the Conqueror gave it to the bishop of Bayeux, then to Caen Abbey, as a source of income. Richard Rich was later an important benefactor of the Felsted church.
