Federal Government College Enugu

The Federal Government College Enugu (FGCE) is a secondary or high school in Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria. The school was created by the Nigerian government in 1973 as one of the Federally funded "Unity schools" to bring together students from regions across Nigeria. The school has facilities for both boarding and day students. Students range from Junior Secondary One (JS1) through Senior Secondary Three (SS3). Students must complete the Federal Common Entrance Exams in order to apply for attendance. There are approximately 3000 students in attendance.The secondary school have produced a lot of prominent people in Nigeria,including a State governor(kaduna state), serving minsters and captains of industries and a lot of other highly placed individuals in the society.They are believed to be outstanding in sports and rated as one of the best schools in the country academically. They have seen great teen sensations in football like Chiddy Mgbor,Chidiebere Chukwuneke,Onyeka Nwatu,Mendex and a lot more. The School which is sited in the heart of the State in Independence Layout has offered a lot to the economic and human capital development not only the state but the country in general.
