Talk:Fdisk

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Why on earth does this entry discuss a command for a relatively little-used operating system that dates back only to 1991? A different and much better known FDISK had been around on a number of collectively vastly more popular operating systems for almost twice as long. Is there a reason this silly entry stands as it does? Or should it be promptly corrected to give the DOS/Windows FDISK primary status? Tannin 01:54, 14 Dec 2003 (UTC) An Fdisk is a DOS and Windows utility that prepares a hard disk for formatting by creating one primary partition on the disk.

The Linux section says nothing about fdisk on Linux. It only talks about partitions.

This article needs the history of fdisk, which probably began at digital research and cp/m qdos. 68.114.111.122 01:17, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
