FC Torpedo Zaporizhzhya

FC Torpedo Zaporizhzhya is a former Ukrainian football team. The team was situated in Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine. The club was founded in 1982. From 1992-98, Torpedo Zaporizhzhya played in the Ukrainian Premier League, after being initially chosen to participate for being one of the top 9 (of 11) Ukrainian teams from the West Division of the Soviet Second League in 1991.
Torpedo Zaporizhzhya's best achievement in the Ukrainian Premier League was 7th place (twice, in 1994-95 and 1995-96).
Torpedo Zaporizhzhya went into bankruptcy at the end of the 1998-99 season and were suspended by the Ukrainian Football Association. It returned to the Championship in the Second League in 2002 and 2003, but was relagated to amateurs. FC Torpedo Zaporizhzhya plays its games at AutoZAZ Stadium with maximum capacity of 12,000.
