[edit] Team history

TJ Slovan Liberec was created on 12 July 1958, when Jiskra Liberec and Slavoj Liberec fused. Jiskra came out from 1910 created SK the Sparta Horní Růžodol. Slavoj however had developed 1945 as SK Čechie Liberec. Before World War II none of the associations from Liberec achieved considerable successes. Only 1953 Slavoj Liberec in the first league played, had to again leave these however after only one play time. Likewise only one season stayed to Jiskra 1955 in the highest play class. Also Slovan played long years in lower leagues, only 1970 succeeded the ascent into the 2. League of Czechoslovakia at that time. Up to the dissolution ČSFR the club played times in second, times in the third league. 1993, when with the establishment sovereigns of the Czech republic also its own Czech league was introduced, succeeded to the association the ascent into the 1. League, from which it did not descend since then. In 1990er the years Slovan Liberec reached mostly a place in the front centre zone of the table. 2002 Slovan Liberec became as the first not Prager crew of Czech football masters. The crew could not repeat this success for the time being and occupied 2002/03 fourth rank. In the season 2004/05 as consequence of a league-far corruption scandal six points were taken off from the association. Reached Slovan with 46 points still the fifth place, missed however by the point departure - sigma Olomouc as the table fourth 51 counters up pointed the participation to UEFA Intertoto Cup.
