From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page is a draft of the page that may become differences between the book and film versions of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

It is not to be considered definitive until the movie is produced.

{{future film}} These are differences between the book and film versions of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J. K. Rowling. Because the film has not yet begun production, much of this information is speculative and may change as the movie progresses.

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details about all six books and six movies in the Harry Potter series follow.

Though they may merely have one fleeting apperance in the book, there are characters that are in Half-Blood Prince who have to be cast. Those characters reprising a role are listed below. They are, in order of apperance: the Muggle Prime Minister (possibly Tony Blair), the portrait in the Muggle Prime Minister's office, Rufus Scrimgeour, Narcissa Malfoy, Horace Slughorn, Verity (Fred and George Weasley's assistants in their shop), Madam Malkin, Marcus Belby, Cormac McLaggen, Horace Slughorn, Romilda Vane, Blaise Zabini, Greyback, to be continued.

The following characters, if not cast in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, will need to be cast in this film. They are, in order of appearance in the sixth book: Kreacher (voice), to be continued.

The following characters have roles in the book version, and have appeared in previous films, but may not reprise their role. The character they play may also be cut. Note that the following list excludes actors who have made some statement about their return.
