[edit] Roman Urdu

Assalamalaikum. Thank you very much for the construction of the chart in the "Roman Urdu Alpahabet Table" section of the Roman Urdu page. It is very well done. Kitabparast and I have also been involved in this project. He is a well qualified expert on this subject and we have collaborated on several pages including Hindustani, Hindustani Grammar, Urdu, and now the Roman Urdu article. I requested him to review your table and also add the Devanagari script to it as well. I have placed a table of Roman Urdu examples on the page as well. Kitabparast will add the Devanagari script to this chart as well and change the order of this chart to Roman Urdu, Nasta'liq, Devanagari, English Translation, and then the Notes. I also placed a picture entitled 'The Urdū Nasta’liq alphabet, with names in the Devanāgarī and Roman Urdu alphabets' in the introduction. I thought it was a great image for the article. Thanks once again for your contribtion. It was a big asset to the Roman Urdu page. I look forward to working with you on this project and look forward to hearing from you soon. Khuda Hafiz. Salaam! It seems like Zulfikkur has already added the Devanagari script to one of the tables I inserted under the examples section in the Roman Urdu article. I have also added a few things to the page do make it look more presentable. I am sure Kitabparast will add the Devanagari script the next time he makes an edit. He has not made an edit in a few days so I assume he is on vacation or something like that. Because he loves doing this and has helped me much before, I am sure he will do it. Maybe it would be a good idea for you to introduce yourself to him on his talk page and also tell him about our collaboration. I like your idea of "laying the foundation for the re-merging of Hindi & Urdu with common script." If you take a look at the Hindustani grammar article, you will see that it is a dual purpose article as it has the Nasta’liq and Devanagari scripts. This is very good. Once again I look forward to working with you. Khuda Hafiz. Jdas07 18:43, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Assalamualaikum. Most of the Devanagari script has been added to the article (except for the table). Recently, Kitabparast has been working on the page so I am sure he will complete this part soon. Perseo-Arabic and Devanagari transliterations have been added under the sample texts as well. Thanks and hope you return soon! Khuda Hafiz. Anupam

Assalamalaikum Fayyaz Abbas. Eid Mubarak ho. I hope everything with you is splendid. It's a pleasure working with you on Wikipedia. Hope you return soon! Khuda hafiz, AnupamTalk 20:28, 25 October 2006 (UTC).
Salaam Fayyaz Abbas! I just wanted to let you know that I have finished adding Devanagari to the Writing System table. I'm looking forward to your return so we can discuss the transcription system. Thanks! Khuda hafiz, AnupamTalk 04:14, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Roman Urdu, is that a standard or a product of imagination?

I don't see standardization in the work, but I am keen to know whether there is a standard for Roman Urdu. I was born and bred in Pakistan and my mother tongue is Urdu. Of what depresses me the most is that the Nastaliq or the Persio-Arabic script has not reached a maturer level in the computing world and it seems we are destined to always retort to an alternative.

If what you are displaying in the table is not standard, I think we should all settle for a standard here, until this work remains a work of pure imagination. I loved the work you guys have done on the Roman Urdu page. I have even started e-mailing and documenting things in the Romand script as was used from the Kitab-e-Muqadas (The Bible). Being a Christian, I read that Zabur all the time and it was good to stare at the first ever works of Roman Urdu emerging from the Bible. If you need help, I'd be more than welcome to help. - Arun Reginald 04:18, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

In Him was life, and that life was the Light of men. John 1:4 KJV

Dear Fayyazabbas,
Love came to a stable on that very special night to bring us out of darkness into His glorious light. May Jesus touch your life with gladness and warm your heart with love as we celebrate His birth. I hope you have a Blessed Christmas, AnupamTalk 06:14, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
