Faulkes Telescope North
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Faulkes Telescope North is a clone of the Liverpool Telescope, and is located at Haleakala Observatory in the U.S. state of Hawaii. It is a 2m reflecting telescope used for research which is also available for use by school children around the world and amateur astronomers in the UK and Ireland. It is operated over the Internet.
The Faulkes Telescope website provides data about the telescopes as well as educational materials that teachers can use with students. A number of the activities detailed on the website have example sets of files with them so that teachers and students can try out the activities before deciding if they want to use the telescope themselves.
