[edit] Plot Summary
Conner Woods plays a young man plagued by visions of what he believes to be his death. Now, he must question how far he can go, before he completely loses his sanity, and attempt to survive his long-awaited fate.
[edit] Production
The shooting script of "Fate" was written and finalized in November of 2006. Filming was delayed for quite a while, to the point where it seemed the movie would not be able to begin. Luckily, even though some of the scenes hadn't been shot, it was still edited and handed in before the deadline. Chris Davies, the film's director, later commented that he was much more pleased with the final cut, rather then how it was originally written in the script. "It's much more fast paced and has a real edge to it."
[edit] Cast
Though it is a very small cast, the main character was one of the most difficult things to find throughout production. It originally began with a long-time acting friend of Davies', Pete Vazquez. One scene was filmed with Vazquez, but Davies began to show displeasure with it. Right after, Davies received a call from Conner Woods, who had been previously approached about the project. Woods agreed to come aboard as the depressed lead character, Taylor. Once the cast was finalized, shooting picked up once again. Throughout a course of three weeks, the deadline being the end of January, the film was shot and edited.
- Conner Woods as Taylor
- Brendan McIsaac as The Psychiatrist
[edit] Music
There was originally a lengthy list of songs to be featured in the film. However, once the re-edit began, only one song was chosen for the course of the movie. Nine Inch Nails leads the soundtrack, along with some other familiar names. Charlie Clouser's famous score is heard throughout a small portion, as well as the hit metal band Mudvayne.
- "Closer (Precursor)" Nine Inch Nails
- "Cigarette" Charlie Clouser
- "Fall Into Sleep" Mudvayne
[edit] Sequel
Talks of a sequel have surfaced among Davies and producer Brandon Rhea. When asked about it, Davies mentioned, "I always like diving further behind the story of the original film in a sequel. So that's basically what I am going to try and pull with this one." The sequel, though it has not gotten the greenlight just yet, would most likely feature a character related to Woods's. "It'd be a search of exactly what happened to Conner [Woods] and the meaning behind these nightmares he had." Davies hopes to have this sequel off and running by at least next month.
