Fatality is a fictional character from the DC Comics universe.

[edit] History

The eldest child of the planet Xanshi's ruling family, the girl who would one day call herself Fatality was sent off-world to be educated by the fabled Warlords of Okaara. When Xanshi was destroyed due to a miscalculation by Green Lantern John Stewart (in Cosmic Odyssey), she became her world's sole survivor. Learning of Xanshi's fate, and that a Green Lantern was responsible, she left Okaara and dedicated herself to becoming the deadliest warrior in all the universe. Remaining ignorant of Stewart's identity, she swore vengeance on all Green Lanterns, hunting down members of the Corps and accumulating a grisly collection of trophies.

When the Green Lantern Corps was rendered powerless, Fatality viewed the last Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner, as her ultimate prize. Their conflict took them from Earth to a desolate planetoid, where during combat she discovered Stewart was to blame for Xanshi's destruction. Fatality seemingly perished in the battle, though no body (save a severed arm) was recovered.

Fatality would later reappear on Earth, having acquired a prosthetic arm and a Qwardian yellow power ring. She again fought Kyle Rayner, who convinced her to remove the yellow ring. The Qwardians had booby trapped the ring, causing it to explosively teleport away after being removed, thus destroying Fatality's (remaining) arm.

After being imprisoned on Earth for a while, she was eventually released by Major Force. She has since been seen working as a bounty hunter in the Vega System in the 2005 miniseries Green Lantern Corps: Recharge.

She became a member of the Secret Society of Super Villains and while in battle she had her ear ripped off by Vandal Savage's daughter, Scandal.
