Great work on the Elchonon Wasserman article! I noticed you were also working on the Yeshiva ohr elchonon chabad article, but wound up blanking it. It is good work, and it would be a shame to lose it. If you really want it deleted, you can put a request on the page for speedy deletion (the message {{db|Put why you want the article deleted here}} should work), but if you're just not happy with the wording etc., it can be taged as such and folks will improve it. You're making some great contributions, so keep up the good work. Feel free to write a note on my talk page (just edit it and add a note to the bottom) if I can help with anything. Thanks again, --Hansnesse 03:49, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
- Incidentally, you don't need to sign articles, the server marks your contributions automatically. Signing talk pages (like this) however, is encouraged. Thanks again, --Hansnesse 03:51, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Help?
Anyone know how to add pictures into articles?
[edit] Images
Howdy! Getting images into articles requires two things: uploading (unless it is already here) an image to the server, and putting the text [[Image:filename|thumb|300px|text of image caption|right]] into the article. There are lots more options for displaying the image too, but this one is probably the one I use most often. The steps are
- click the upload file on the left side of the screen, and upload the file
- insert the above code for the image where you want it (usually the top for short articles), changing the word "filename" to whatever you called it when uploaded.
A more difficult problem is getting images off the web. If the image you want is from the web, we'd have to make sure that it is not under copyright before uploading it, or get the copyright owner's permission. The Wikipedia:Image use policy can give some guidance. Alternatively, you can put in a request for an image at Wikipedia:Requested pictures.
Some general image links:

Does this help at all? --Hansnesse 04:24, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Wasserman-2.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Wasserman-2.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 82.83.65.227 10:03, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
