From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

tollkeeper : "somebody who accepts an unfair ¹ economic advantage"

¹) this is weakly defined, see fair society.

"Just because you can block somebody else's road or passage - should you be taking advantge of this?"

for example:

  • intellectual property like music, software or movies which are sold at maximum profit with worldwide competition and without profit limits.
  • wealth that is used to create more wealth with the goal to maximize profit.
  • exploitation of natural resources, including excessive land ownership.
  • patents that are meant to block somebody else's access to an obvious technology.

Also: equity investment, ownership equity, shareholders' equity vs. equity

"You want a lot of equity ¹ in investment and ownership of your economies"

¹) fairness and justness

[edit] References

  • "Zöllner haben ein schlechtes Wegerecht" {de} ¹ -> tollkeepers have a bad we gerecht -> tollkeepers aren't fair-minded / righteous / equitable / evenhanded / just ²
¹) Wegerecht {de} means "right of way"
²) more properly it is the society in which tollkeepers can go about their business undisturbed that has a bad "we gerecht" (legislation). What is lacking is (an implementation of) collective intelligence.
