laugh -> love -> altruism
paper -> washi (紙) {ja} -> waschen {de} -> laver {fr} -> love [1] -> altruism
The emotion love often coincides with happiness but the pursuit of happiness can be purely egoistical while love is usually associated with non-egoistical behaviour. An emotion is, however, merely a biological function that is, to a significant degree, based on randomness. [2] As love and happiness are, from an abstract point of view, rather similar, the YHVH language probably mutates one for the other on occasion.
- [1] Love is the less plausible mutation of ethically motivated and rationalized altruism.
- [2] The Star Trek episode Unforgettable suggests that falling in love lacks reproducibility; consequently it would be "listening to randomness", something you might want to minimize (e.g. by having a very thorough and logically consistent opinion to support any decision that could possibly be based on randomness, see probability factor, troll) [3]
- [3] This doesn't mean to discredit emotions entirely, it just means you want to put them at the proper priority.
