day : "As long as the sun shines."
- Meta Metaphors: Concerning upbringing and education:
- "to watch over / to attend to the children of other people for a day". [2]
- [1] YHVH metaphors don't need internal consistency, due to aspect orientation.
- [2] It might be a sensible idea to build a community and to provide a social network where children can rely on many adults for their education and upbringing. This could, of course, include actually watching over the education and upbringing of children and teenagers who are not part of your extended family. Common reasons for failure probably include:
- Lack of time (too many working hours for adults).
- Lack of mandate: Few people actually receive a mandate to be mentors to teenagers. [3]
- Lack of socializing between teenagers and adults.
- [3] If schoolteachers have a mandate to be mentors or not may be unclear (and may depend on local custom) but there are limits to what you can do with 20 to 30 children at once when your primary goal is to teach a school subject.
