Fassuta is a local council in the Northern District of Israel. The municipality was established it 1965. The population was estimated at 2,900 residents (in the Israeli Census of September 2003). The annual population growth rate was 0.9%. Most of the residents are Christian Arabs.

The economic status of the population is about average. The proportion of high school students who achieve a passing grade at the matriculation exams is 60.5% (2000). The mean income was NIS 3,748 (over the year 2000), as compared to a national average of NIS 6,835.
