The city of Colombo known as commercial capital of Sri Lanka is one of the popular fashion centers in South East Asia. Also the country of Sri Lanka has a trend in fashion industry. The most popular cities for the fashion industry are Colombo and Kandy. Relating to the fashion industry Sri Lanka is one of the leading garment exporters in the world today.

The fashion trend of the modern era reflects the revival of ancient fashion industry influenced by Portuguese and British. After the arrival of Portuguese to Sri Lanka 1505, changed Sri Lankan traditional dress code. But the ancient traditional saree, the Kandyan Saree Style and Indian Saree Style are the most popular in Sri Lanka today.
