FAST Institute for Computer Science was an educational institution in Pakistan with its campuses at Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. It was also known as Syed Ikhlaq Hussain Institute of Computer Science (SAHICS). In 2000, the institute was chartered as National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences in the Federal Area (capital). It became the first truly multi-campus university of Pakistan with campuses in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad with the board in Islamabad.

FAST Institute for Computer Science dates back to 1985 when the Foundation for Advancement of Science and Technology (FAST) put together the effort for developing sciences in Pakistan and to fulfill their aim they set up institutes for computer sciences in the two major cities of Pakistan; Lahore and Karachi. Later on they expanded it to the Capital city of Pakistan - Islamabad.

These institutes popularly known as FAST amongst the public became the leading educational center for the computer science field of Pakistan and made their mark as the best not only amongst their peers in the country but in the software industry of the west like England and USA.

FAST's first campus was built in Karachi. FAST's second campus was built in Faisal Town in south western Lahore. FAST's third campus was built in Islamabad. FAST's fourth campus was built in Peshawar

The institute offers Computer science, Telecommunications and Electronic engineering bachelor degrees.

Currently (mid 2006) there are 1400 students in the Lahore Campus.
