Template talk:FARpassed

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

[edit] Usage

This template is used on the talk page of an article that has undergone Featured article review and is still featured. To close a review for an article that remains featured, copy the following text and use it to replace the {{FAR}} template:

{{FARpassed|date=[[{{subst:CURRENTDAY}} {{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}}]] [[{{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}]]|oldid=}}

The id of the version passing the review can be added to the optional oldid parameter.

If the article has moved since the review, the optional parameter archive can be used to specify the name of the article when it underwent review.

[edit] Including date/version of review

I'd like for this template to include the date of the review or possibly a version id of the reviewed article like {{featured}} now does. Perhaps something like this example for Super Mario 64:

Former featured article removal candidate This article (or a previous version) was reviewed on 3 July 2006 and was found to still embody the qualities of a featured article.

The "version" link would link to an oldid if provided, or else to the article's history, just as {{featured}} does. Any thoughts? Pagrashtak 05:39, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Looks fine to me. Probably "ending" rather than "on" July 3. I'm not sure how the syntax works to make the link to the old version happen. When using the template, we need to go hunting for the old id and manually insert it? Marskell 12:26, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
Yes, unfortunately, the oldid has to be located manually, but the template can be constructed like the {{featured}} template to make it optional. If an oldid is not provided, the link would go to the general article history. Pagrashtak 16:30, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
