[edit] Early life
Born in Iowa but raised in Fresno and, Los Angeles. This exotic wonder, growing up she performed anywhere she could from solos in church to musicals in off Broadway shows. It helped her keep a humble heart and, mind. Even throughout her rise to stardom, Farrah has always kept close to her siblings and friends and made sure to never change for the worse. She is especially close with her little sister karrie who she has a strong hand in raising. “I have to be the role model to her that I never had that she would probably never have without me.” Farrah tells one reporter in her spare time this entrepreneur / entertainer mentors under privileged girls at Penny Lane one of the world’s largest group homes in Los Angeles and, is continually hosting and involved with many charity events.
In 1999,Farrah met Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé Knowles during the Bills Bills Bills videoshoot she was cast as an extra in the video and since that they all stay friends. In a Sister to sister Interview she stateds(quote): It was really awkward because I met LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett during the video ,LaTavia was the first person I talked to. We exchanged numbers first but her number changed, so we ended up not keeping in contact. Kelly and I talked on the phone. I was in another singing group called Jane Doe and we were going through stuff amongst our group. I didn't have the slightest idea about what was going on with Destiny's Child. I heard rumors but I didn't know. While talking to Kelly one day Farrah was singing and kelly didn't know that Farrah could sing, She called Farrah back and ask (Teen People), "Can you sing for Beyoncé?" So I sang for her and then a couple days later, Beyoncé told her that Matthew wanted to meet with me. She met with Matthew and was actually supposed to be a stand-in for when one of the girls got sick. This was in December 1999.She went out to Houston and during that time period,Matthew got the letter of termination firing Matthew from being LaTavia and LeToya's manager, so Farrah came back home, Then about a couple weeks later Farrah got a phone call asking if this is what I wanted to do and so she flew to Houston.
[edit] Destiny Child
In Feb 18 or 19,of 2000, she joined the multi-platinum girl group Destiny's Child. She and Michelle Williams were introduced in the music video for "Say My Name" (although Franklin was already featured as an extra in Destiny's Child's video for Bills, Bills, Bills), replacing original members LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson,She also appeared in the music video for "Jumpin' Jumpin'",while in the group Farrah was very Quiet, and never hung out with the group,And in (S2S) she has said (quote):I was very quiet around the girls. I never hung out with the girls really because I felt not a part. I just didn't feel like I was being accepted. I felt like I was just being used. I was being used to finish the album. And after that, I felt like Beyoncé was going to do her solo album and we were going to be kicked to the curb. I didn't join the group to lip-synch.
Five months after joining Destiny's Child Franklin was fire,On July 13 Farrah found out she was gone from the group from watching MTV,because of there have beening a lot of negativity going on, the next day, Beyoncé did an interview stating Farrah had missed three major dates (concert performances) and the group decided to fire her .Due to feeling like she was losing her identity to be a new LaTavia and felt as if she was being walked over by the The Knowles family and Rowland,She had to leave.
Farrah had her vocals on songs, she can be heard on "Independent Women Part 1 (vocals are rumored to have been removed from the album version)", "Jumpin' Jumpin" (Azza's Remix & WMBA Version),and " Dance With Me" with Matthew Knowles' new boy group, Signature.
