In 2000, David LaBruyere began writing and recording the EP Farrago Dance Mix but due to his other commitments to touring with Mayer, his own release took a backseat. This changed in 2006 while Mayer was putting together Continuum, the first of Mayer's releases that LaBruyere wasn't called upon to play bass, as Mayer had veteran bassist Pino Palladino play. With the extra time he had, LaBruyere decided to focus his energies on completing the long-shelved Dance Mix. Re-enslisting producer and guitarist John Shoffner, previously of The Morgan Rowe Band and a important member of the Atlanta music scene, LaBruyere was armed with the ability to complete the album, and that he did. The album finally came to fruition and was released in early 2007. The 8 song EP features the song "Broken Time" with Mayer as vocalist.
