Farnell (company)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Farnell or Farnell InOne is a trading name of Premier Farnell, an international company that primarily sells and distributes electronic components and equipment; however, it has expanded its range into non-electronic components and equipment. The company was founded in 1939 and today employs over 1000 people.

The company has also been known as "Farnell Electronic Components" (FEC), and this name lives on in the electronics industry as the common abbreviation for this company.

Farnell supplies a wide range of electronic components to industry and enthusiasts, usually with next day delivery within the UK, from stock. The company distributes a catalogue to customer account holders annualy, commonly known as the 'Farnell Book', detailing almost the entire range of components stocked, some 431,000 products. It is good practice, however, to check the availability of components online before ordering, as products may become obsolete and no longer stocked well within the lifetime of the paper catalogue. The full 2007 catalogue, not including indexes, has 5389 pages in 4 books, and together is the approximate size of a medium breeze block.

Datasheets for all products are provided for free on Farnell's website.
