Farmington is a city in Davis County, Utah, United States. The population was 12,081 at the 2000 census.and by 2004 had been estimated to increase to 13,882. It is the county seat of Davis CountyGR6. Lagoon Amusement Park is located in Farmington.

Originally known as North Cottonwood, Farmington was permanently settled by Mormon pioneers in 1847. The Children's Primary Association of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was organized here on 11 August, 1878. Home of Lagoon Amusement Park.

Farmington is located at 40°59′12″N, 111°53′57″W (40.986594, -111.899157)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 20.1 km² (7.8 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 12,081 people, 4,087 households, and 2,769 families residing in the city. The population density was 601.1/km² (1,557.8/mi²). There were 3,216 housing units at an average density of 160.0/km² (414.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.66% White, 0.36% black [ (U.S. Census)|], 0.61% Native American, 0.84% [[(U.S. Census)|], 0.17% Pacific Islander, 1.28% from other races, and 1.07% from two or more races. [[ (U.S. Census)|] or Latino of any race were 2.98% of the population.

There were 3,087 households out of which 56.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 80.8% were married couples living together, 6.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 10.3% were non-families. 8.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.72 and the average family size was 3.97.

In the city the population was spread out with 37.0% under the age of 18, 11.4% from 18 to 24, 27.1% from 25 to 44, 19.0% from 45 to 64, and 5.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 26 years. For every 100 females there were 109.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 109.4 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $74,250, and the median income for a family was $78,492. Males had a median income of $56,847 versus $30,464 for females. The per capita income for the city was $24,407. About 1.6% of families and 2.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 3.1% of those under age 18 and 0.2% of those age 65 or over.
