Farm to Market Road 171, FM 171, or the Upper Charlie Road (as opposed to FM 1740 which is sometimes called Charlie Road or Lower Charlie Road), is a two-lane, state-maintained highway that connects the farming areas of northern Wichita and Clay counties to Wichita Falls in Wichita County. The two-lane highway meanders through northern Clay County in a generally east-west direction connecting various small, unincorporated communities in the area to the economic hub, Wichita Falls.
