Farington is a small village to the immediate north of Leyland in Lancashire in the United Kingdom. Farington is a rural community, although signs of farming are on the decrease as the area becomes more of a commuting base for workers using the nearby motorways.

Farington is a parish within South Ribble District Council, and is also within the Parliamentary Constituency of South Ribble. The relationship between Farington and Leyland has always been strong but Farington is not part of Leyland and is a disrict of Preston. Stanifield Lane which runs through the village and into Leyland is the main thoroughfare for shoppers and commuters alike. There is a Catholic convent in Farington, serving a moderately large Catholic population. Farington no longer has a railway station as this was taken away in the sweeping changes to the rail network in the 1960s and 1970s. An entire rail line was also taken away, only the overgrown outlines of tracks remain.

Farington is linked with Lostock Hall, to the north, in the Farington County Council Ward.
