Talk:FAP

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Any reason for taking off the reference to Sexy Losers for the onomatopoeia for FAP? Its origin on the internet may be of interest to some people.

  • I know that is why I came to wiki/fap. And now I know =D "fapfapfap" JayKeaton 20:06, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Neopets

Since this more of a list than an article, there's really no encyclopedic way to mention this outside of a talk page, but I wanted to mention it here since I find it interesting and amusing. On Neopets, there are several word games, and since a lot of the site is directed towards and intended for children, certain potentionally "objectionable" words, such as "pot" and "weed", are omitted from their word database, despite having completly innocuous definitions aside from their slang usage... however, "fap" is allowed, and comes up quite often during the 3-letter round of the game Typing Terror. ("Boner" is also allowed, but that's another story.) - Ugliness Man 07:00, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Department of redundancy department.

This is the second or third time I have removed redundant mentions of the masturbation reference. It seems like every now and then someone comes to the article, completely ignores the first sentence, and only looks at the list. Then, noticing that the list doesn't mention this meaning, adds it. Part of the problem, it seems, is that the reference in the opening sentence was a brief, almost dismissive, mention, whereas some people seem to think it should be the focus. I doubt that my recent edit will solve this problem completely, but I've expanded the opening so that this definition is a little more visible, and mentioned first. I also hope that the way I've edited it makes it clear that the list is a list of acronyms, so that adding another redudant mention of the masturbation refrence to the list would clearly be incorrect. - Ugliness Man 16:56, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
